Hey everyone. I figure this was a long time coming and nobody is probably surprised, but I don't think we'll be able to continue running ToW.

I feel terrible about it, and I'm so sorry that we weren't able to do everything we promised to try and get the game back on it's feet.
I don't want to waste this thread with a bunch of excuses, so I'll just say that it's time to say it is what it is. I adored this game, (wouldn't have even given modding a shot if I didn't love it so much) and all of the people who played in it are amazing <3 I want to give a HUGE thanks to everyone that gave their advice, suggestions, and help when Ambi and I picked up modship

That being said, if anyone is interested in keeping the game open as a musebox/DR, I can make membership open and everyone can invite their friends, keep playing around in this setting, etc. Feel free to post in this thread about your feelings as far as if you guys are wanting to keep it open as a DR/musebox type deal. We could keep up a slower, loose plot that way.

Either way, all of you guys rock, and I'm sorry that we couldn't do more.

An OPEN POST is up in the main comm for the Masquerade/Haunting event! There are a few subthreads but feel free to post outside them if you really want, just be sure to specify pre or post ghost party crashing in the subject. I'll leave a place in the comments here for any last minute plotting, if you haven't already taken advantage of the previous one.

With this event, we're trying out the open post format that we mentioned implementing here, so let us know what you think, what you think could be improved, etc. If all goes well there will be more posts of the sort in the future.

As noted in the post: Rabanastre will be haunted for the next few days by wraiths. They're none too easy to take out alone, and fond of sneaking up on the unsuspecting and terrorizing them.

"It is said Wraiths are the Coalescence of the lingering Regrets of those who perished in a tragic Accident during the Waterway's Construction. Many of those who died were Fathers, and their Thoughts for their Sons and Daughters cause this Creature to appear most often near Children."

Wraiths can inflict a lot of status effects, (blindness, poison, sleep) so you might want to run to Migelo's for an antidote or some eye drops. They can also inflict doom, so it wouldn't hurt to have a phoenix down handy, either. Happy hunting!

Last thing!

ACTIVITY CHECK will be going up sometime later today. It will remain open for one week but if you miss it by a day or two just get in touch with the mods and let us know what's up, we're pretty understanding.

Hey there everyone! We have quite a few things to talk about so bear with me.

This is Jessa here and due to extenuating circumstances, the Mod Team here is undergoing some big changes. As of now I will be taking over responsibilities as head moderator, and Ambi will be acting as co-mod/helper mod. Things are up in the air right now regarding more helper mods and we will definitely keep you guys updated as these things happen.

In my first modly act, I'm going to be pretty frank here for a moment and as all of us probably know, this game has a dwindling number of active players (and we love all of you!) and little in the way of new blood coming in. Ambi and I personally love this game and as long as there are people still willing to play, we will try and do what I can to keep this game going.

With that in mind, we'd like to open up discussion for the existing playerbase to get an idea of what you would like from this game: things you would like to see, things you think are working, things that you think could be changed. We're looking to change around some things to make the game more fun for everyone and hopefully attract more players.

Much as I lovelovelove the theme for this game, my motivation for playing here has vanished on me, as has the voice for this character. :(

As such, I'm bowing out. Perhaps, if her voice comes back, I'll re-app her in future, but until then: I wish you all the best and thank you for letting me in the game.

(My apologies to Ikki, too: I know we were threading on the convoy log - feel free to assume Aqua got suckered in, but made a seperate getaway during the ruckas.)

The team that defeated the Wraith consisted of Meenah and Dave. Congratulations! You're both rewarded 10 LP.

The ghosts were defeated by Terezi and Vriska who will each earn 5 LP for their efforts.

Sorry I've been slower than usual on things! As to not get too personal, the basic story is just that my health has been really poor lately, and I'm not able to get up and get everything done like I want to!

I'll be contacting the new co-mods (and Kim!) to figure something out to make things run more smoothly. Sorry again. : (

DETAILS: The hunt is the first sight of ghouls this October! The hunt will consist of one Wraith and two Ghosts, all of which are found in the Garamsythe Waterway. Beware, though! The Wraith has the difficult ability of being able to cast doom. Due to this, things will be a little different.

The Ghosts are defeatable on their own. However, the Wraith will require either one character who has already completed a hunt or a party of two or more characters.

REWARDS: The Ghosts reward 5 LP each. The Wraith will reward 10 LP to either the experienced character or a party of two (the reward will not be split this month, so both characters would get the full amount of LP). If a party of more than two wins, the LP will be divided (three characters would get 7 LP each, four would get 5 LP each, etc.)

NOTES: For NPC run hunts, the results will be determined using Random.org. The same character might defeat more than one monster, but it's also possible that all four monsters in the hunt will be defeated by different characters.

SCHEDULE:

OCTOBER 9TH The flier appears in the Sandsea.

OCTOBER 12TH Results are announced in the OOC comm.

If you want to organize parties, I will put a place in the comments to do so! Characters can then organize them IC as well, of course.

For those still tied up in the other event, depending on your location, you may miss out on the hunt. Keep it realistic, please. :) And since the requirements for this hunt are different than usual, let me know your opinion on what you think of varying requirements for the main hunts! Different things could be only inexperienced players one month (to give players that haven't won a chance!), something like this another month, etc. etc.

Remember your characters can also throw their own hunts if they would like! We're going to cap player made hunts with a reward of 5 LP, but they would still provide some so they're worth throwing!

ONE MORE THING

For those of you that have built up LP, would you like a specific entry to purchase new magicks and technicks? I think that sounds like the easiest way to do it!

The October calendar is still being coded to fit the new 2:1 ratio for the game, but as the events are finalized, I thought I would give you guys both a heads up and a place to plot here!

→ OCTOBER 5th (DAY 3) The Imperial convoy will appear in the Estersands and will be subsequently raided. As this is mostly a player based event, if anyone wants to go into more detail in the comments for new players who might want to get involved, please feel free too!

→ OCTOBER 6th AC ends. The plotting meme will also go up for non-event specific plots!

→ OCTOBER 8th This month's hunt information will be posted in the OOC community.
→ OCTOBER 9th (DAY 5) The flier for the hunt will appear in the Sandsea.
→ OCTOBER 12th The hunt results will be posted.

→ OCTOBER 28th (NIGHT 14) The townspeople will be throwing a masquerade in the North End of Rabanastre. In the middle of the event, the ghouls that normally roam the sewers will escape and roam the city, causing all sorts of trouble. These ghouls will last until the 31st of October or until the players find some way to vanquish them all or send them back into the sewers.

Hey, guys! Due to some recent changes, we're going to have a shift in modding. What that means is I will be looking for 1 to 3 new co-mods to help out.

I'll need one other "main mod" who will be willing to help out with game-wide plots and generally everything that will keep the game running. The second mod would be a helper mod that would have the basic task of keeping the reserve and taken character lists up-to-date. The one who vanquished the Flowering Cactoid is none other than LOCKE, who will be rewarded 10 LP and a Cactoid Flower. The Cactoid Flower is often used in remedies and healing potions, and therefore would easily sell for a high price. On the other hand, a good alchemist or potion maker would be able to create a highly potent potion with it.

The regular cactoid was slain by AQUA. She is rewarded 5 LP.

The baby Cactite were killed by AQUA (her lucky day?!) and MEENAH who will each get 2 LP for their efforts.

MODLY NOTE

After polling you guys, it looks like the 1:2 ratio is the most popular for days. Thus we will be changing the way time works in this game to 1 day in game = 2 days IRL. This change will start October 1st.

Hey guys,

It's Dagger and I'm dropping the Marquis of Bhujerba from this game. I honestly don't do the character justice like I've done in the past, and that is to no one's fault other than my own. Between my busy schedule and the other two characters I juggle elsewhere, I've been character squatting for far too long as Ondore.

So with that said, I'm letting him go for now.

I really must apologize to the Resistance folks, especially since they tried really hard to get the plot moving here. Hopefully Ondore's absence in all this won't effect things badly. ~~You guys are totally awesome without him.~~

My computer is fixed and I am back in action.

As for Vriska's absence, we'll just pretend she was ACTUALLY LYING LOW for a little bit because it ~*occurred*~ to her that escaping from a dungeon and boasting about it was actually a REALLY STUPID thing to do.

Hey guys, as I found out trying to post a mini-hiatus about this past weekend which I spent in Mickey-Mouse-Land (it was awesome, by the way), my iPod seems to dislike me logging into dreamwidth. Or something where it keeps glitching. (It could be the internet connection) I don't truly know.

Anyways, to avoid this being a situation in the future, I wish to inform everyone that from about September 21st to the 28 (and possibly through the 30th) I will be in the process of moving, so my likelyhood of being able to post or tag will be slim to none–especially since my ipod is refusing to let me log on and reply to things–and as such Gabranth will officially be on hiatus. I will, however, attempt to reply to things within that time-period.

Still, I just wanted to give people an advance notice.
